This article is much delayed. Sorry for the wait! For many reasons, I’ve had trouble sitting down to write this article. I came to a stand still until today. Earlier in the afternoon I posted the picture you see to the right. “Don’t allow anyone or anything to keep you from your purpose!” God has a plan for you that only you can fulfill. He has set us on all different paths. The question is.. will we stand in our truth and fulfill the mission He has set before us? This is something that I struggle with often. I had an “Aha!” moment when I made that photo because that was exactly what I needed to hear as I’m sure many others do. In fact, it ties into the whole theme of this article.
Both cards have different bible verses. Matthew 12:50 speaks about doing God’s will and being aligned with what He has in store for your life. Matthew 25:21 is a message from Christ and God basically saying “Good Job!”
One of the reasons I have struggled to write this is because of the card on the right. “Well done, thou good and faithful servant.” Through my writing and interactions with the world I make an honest effort to walk in my purpose and share the knowledge, experience, and gifts He gave me with the world and you, my readers. Like everyone else, it is easy to become discouraged. Life isn’t always easy, and mine is by no means perfect. When I drew that card I was perplexed because I did not feel like I was doing a very good job! I was trying to do the next right thing, but I kept feeling like I was
not getting anywhere. Therefore, I wasn’t expecting any praise!
For this article, I’m going to keep it simple (mostly because it is simple!), The message that this draw brings is this:
God knows that we are not perfect. If we were perfect then we would be God! Listen to the subtle, yet sometimes pretty obvious, messages that God is placing in your life. We may be reading quotes, articles, street signs, etc. that are all trying to send us a message. Take notice of the repeating themes going on in your life. Pay attention to your successes and failures, opportunities, relationships, and conversations with other people. If you keep yourself attentive, you will see the messages He is trying to send you. When we pay attention, we are able to better understand the direction and purpose He has for our lives.
When we make an honest effort to do the next right thing and fulfill our purpose we are already succeeding. You may make mistakes along the way, and sometimes you may even be discouraged from following your path. Don’t allow outside forces to steer you away from your destiny, and know that, even if it seems like you are failing, as long as you are moving forward you are taking steps in the right direction toward fulfilling your destiny. Listen to your gut, and do right even when it is difficult. He sees your hard work, your struggles and pain, and he hears your prayers! Your reward is on its way.
It may sound cliche, but the night is always darkest before the dawn! Agents and other events may try to prevent you from moving forward, but do not give up! You are almost there.
