Top 7 Crystals – What’s In Your Arsenal?

I like to think of my crystal collection as my arsenal for life. Each crystal serves a different purpose whether I am meditating, doing ritual work, making elixirs, using them for healing or using them to adjust the energy in my home. It was not easy, but I compiled a list of the Top 7 Crystals you should have in your arsenal.

#1 Clear Quartz
Chakra: Crown

Clear Quartz is Queen, people; it’s also known as the “Master Healer.”  Clear Quartz is the most versatile stone in the world known to be able to generate, absorb, magnify and regulate energy. It’s also great for balancing physical, emotional, and mental energies. In fact, many other crystals stem from quartz itself coming in all different colors, shapes, sizes, and properties of their own. I have tons of Clear Quartz in my arsenal, and I mostly use it when I am smudging, making elixirs, or performing ritual work.
One of my favorite Clear Quartz specimens is Lemurian Seed Quartz. The Ancient Lemurian civilization  ran through crystal technology. In fact, most of our gadgets we use today (laptops, cellphones etc.) are made possible with crystal technology. It is said that when their civilization was falling they encoded or “seeded” their teachings and knowledge into these crystals. I love the healing vibrations I feel from these stones.
I also find Clear Quartz especially helpful when trying to open or clear my Crown Chakra which directly corresponds to divine connection and psychic abilities. Clear Quartz enhances psychic abilities, memory, wards off negative energies and helps bring all chakras into harmony. Physically, Clear Quartz enhances the health of the body and stimulates your immune system.

#2 Amethyst
Chakra: Third-Eye

Amethyst is most likely my all-time favorite stone. Amethyst is a must have for enhancing your intuition and psychic abilities. For a more pro-active approach, Amethyst also fills in holes in your aura as well as being used as a stone of protection. I wear an Amethyst necklace and ring every single day.
Amethyst is also known to help with sobriety, recovery, mental illness, grief, personal losses and protection. I believe the reason I’ve felt such an attachment to Amethyst is because it is such a calming stone which makes it great for meditation and dreams. It is not uncommon, for those who know me well, to see me holding my amethyst necklace or twisting my ring around my finger when I’m feeling anxious. I try practicing three deep breaths (I like the synchronicity of the number 3) while holding it, and then I move on with my day.
Physically, Amethyst helps strengthen the immune system, boosts hormone production, and aids with conditions such as insomnia, headaches, migrains, stress disorders, and arthritis.

#3 Sodalite
Chakra: Throat

Sodalite is known as the “Stone of Awakening” and also as a sobriety stone like Amethyst. Sodalite is great for boosting self esteem, self love, personal expression, creativity, self worth, and confidence. For those times where it is difficult to speak up or maybe having trouble telling a loved one how you really feel, wearing or keeping a piece of Sodalite in your pocket will be of great help. Sodalite is also great for what I like to call “deprogramming” and releasing old habits and patterns. I find it interesting that Sodalite helps so much with speaking up and self expression while at the same time helping you make a new path for yourself!  Physically, Sodalite boosts the immune system and helps with insomnia.

#4 Rose Quartz
Chakra: Heart

Rose Quartz, in my experience, is a very gentle, loving and healing stone. Rose Quartz is actually know as “The Love Stone.” However, as I mentioned in The 7 Chakras earlier, love is not just romantic love but Agape and self love as well. The energy of this stone helps to open and heal the heart chakra. For break ups, rough patches with a loved one or if your not feeling so good about yourself, Rose Quartz is the perfect stone for you. Rose Quartz is also helpful in building trust, letting go of jealousy, and releasing anger. I keep Rose Quartz within a good reach where I store my crystals because it is my go-to for times like I just described. Even if you aren’t going through those things, love is a beautiful thing! In my opinion, it is always a great time to bring yourself some love! Are you looking for your King? Queens, listen up! Rose Quartz can be used to attract love. Pick up some Rose Quartz, and you have your own personal love charm! Physically, Rose Quartz is helpful with fertility, heart problems, and breast cancer.

#5 Citrine
Chakra: Solar Plexus

Citrine is a beautiful stone, and since is corresponds to the Solar Plexus Chakra it helps with emotional balance and detox. It boosts self worth, self love, protects from negative energies, and helps with mental clarity. Citrine is also know as “The Merchant Stone” and helps to attract money and business. If you own a business, I’ve read that putting a piece of citrine in the cash register will help attract sales. Citrine may also help with prosperity spells (I would mix with Green Aventurine “The Stone of Opportunity”).
I’ve been attracted in the past to Citrine in times where I needed help balancing my emotions or purging some negative energies. Physically, Citrine helps with depression, digestive problems,  and diabetes. It is also known to bring love and joy to its owner.

#6 Carnelian
Chakra: Sacral

Oh boy! Let me tell you, when was I first introduced to Carnelian my spirit felt like it was on fire! Carnelian is a great stone for taking action in your life. Carnelian corresponds to the Sacral Chakra and has a strong creative and sexual energy. Carnelian is great for endurance, physical training and coordination, balancing energy, sexuality, overcoming jealousy, guarding your home, love, rekindling relationshps, ambition, and attracting prosperity. Physically, Carnelian helps with fertility, sexuality, back problems, arthritis, male and female reproductive issues, congestion, and nosebleeds. In my experience, Carnelian is great for adding fire to your current relationship, or, if your single, making you feel confident and sexy!

#7 Black Tourmaline
Chakra: Root

Black Tourmaline is essential. I repeat: Black Tourmaline is essential. Black Tourmaline is a super powerful stone, and I’ve made a habit of always keeping a piece in my purse. It is helpful with protection from psychic attacks, protection from all kinds of negative energies, releasing and diffusing negative energies, grounding, and connection to the earth. Think of Black Tourmaline as your psychic armor. Does a warrior ever forget to put their armor on before battle? Of course not. Put on your armor when you leave your house! Sometimes, I put a piece under my pillow when I am unable to sleep especially if I am feeling some out of the ordinary disturbances (I will sage first if that’s the case). You can also buy a piece of Tourminalated Quartz for a great balance of the healing energies of Clear Quartz and the protective power of Black Tourmaline. Black Tourmaline is also known to ease sexual frustration and release negative thoughts. Physically, Black Tourmaline helps with dyslexia, motion sickness, arthritis, and protects against disease. And here’s the kicker! Black Tourmaline, I’m guessing because of it’s great grounding effects and connection to mother earth while strengthening your root chakra, can at times be used as an aphrodisiac. To be honest, Black Tourmaline isn’t my first go-to for sexuality (see Carnelian), but why not give it a try! This crystal is versatile and potent so be sure to make it a part of your arsenal!
